What Is TMJ?

TMJ is an acronym standing for temporomandibular joint. This joint is located on both sides of your head, directly in front of and under your ears. The joint is vital for opening and closing your jaw while eating food and speaking. Dysfunction of the TMJ is called temporomandibular joint disorder (TMD).
